Every day, our Immigration Services Analysts provide support to USCIS operations by conducting a range of projects and studies involving in-depth analysis to enhance operational effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
This position of IMMIGRATION SERVICES ANALYST starts at a salary of $60,210 (GS-11 grade level), to $93,821 (GS-12 grade level), with promotion potential to GS-12 grade level.

This position is in the bargaining unit. This position is not considered "essential" for purposes of reporting to work when the facility might otherwise be closed.
Relocation expenses are authorized if you are a USCIS employee assigned to the Refugee, Asylum and International Operations program and have been approved for rotation from an overseas assignment. Relocation expenses for USCIS employees assigned to an OCONUS location will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

As an IMMIGRATION SERVICES ANALYST, you will:
- Perform research and conduct studies which involve the search and examination of records and databases to obtain pertinent information on cases, policies, procedures, trends, and evaluations to make determinations on specific problems.
- Serve on problem-solving teams to further organizational goals or improve programs and management processes or systems.
- Have a knowledge of methods, metrics, tools, and techniques of business process analysis and process improvement; plans, develops and conducts research, initiates surveys and evaluates or analyzes findings for a variety of purposes.
- Compose final documents covering complex information, including policies, training manuals/materials, management reports, or conference materials.
- Collect relevant information that is needed to identify issues and draw sound conclusions; gather and analyze facts, determining the accuracy of the data, defining the problem, and identifying solutions.

GS-11: You qualify at the GS-11 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to the GS-09 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
- Gathering, reviewing, verifying and consolidating information and statistical data.
- Conducting studies to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems in work processes or workload distribution.
- Using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to assess factual or procedural issues related to management processes, systems and mission support programs.
- Analyzing data from a variety of sources to develop trends, patterns and studies. OR
You may substitute a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent degree), or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field, or L.L.M. (if related for experience) at the GS-11 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours. GS-12: In Addition to the requirements at the lower grade level(s), to qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to theGS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Conducting studies, analyzing findings and making recommendations on program operations.
- Conducting detailed analyses of complex functions and work processes.
- Supporting the development and evaluation of policies and recommending actions to achieve program objectives and improvements. There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
