Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is adding an additional position to the Command Center which is the patient flow hub of the hospital.

  • Bed Control RN’s must have excellent communication and critical thinking skills

In this role you will be responsible for various aspects of patient flow throughout the continuum of admission to the hospital to maximize efficiency of hospital resources and ensure appropriate patient bed placement and movement throughout the admission stay. Excellent communication skills and critical thinking are needed to coordinate with the ED Patient Flow Coordinator, Supervisors and Surgery staff to triage the movement of patients to available inpatient rooms. Bed control nurses will also assess the physician orders to verify appropriate level of care for patients in the Emergency Room, Recovery areas, and Ancillary departments ensuring that the orders and the level of care match the acuity of the patient being reviewed. They may also coordinate with the Transfer Center to place Direct Admissions and transfers to appropriate inpatient rooms within the hospital. Bed Control RN’s may also assist with staffing requirements in the Transfer Center to maintain patient flow and operations.

Minimum requirements include: Associates degree in Nursing. Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse with experience in discharge planning, case management or utilization management. Current RN license for the state of California and BLS certification.
