Manager Program / Project Management
Open to most Anthem locations - may consider working remotely
Responsible for ensuring the overall success of multiple, cross-functional programs/projects through functional managers. Programs may include cultural change, regional planning, process improvement, change management, and quality initiatives. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Plans program/project scope and design.
Facilitates determination of required deliverables and validation of ROI.
Establishes process to continually monitor program progress.
Develops metrics and program/project reporting tools.
Analyzes variance to program/project plan.
Leads building of documentation to support business objectives and ensure consistency.
Responsible for championing local stakeholders and tactical decision-makers.
Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
The Manager Program and Project Management will lead a team of 20 Analysts + Contractors supporting WGS Claims.
Skills and Competencies:
Experience in WGS Preferred

Ability to effectively navigate the organization and build meaningful relationships
Leverage and apply experience with multiple Software Delivery approaches (Agile SAFe, Kanban, Waterfall) to shape and influence project and team execution
Think broadly and end to end recognizing the impact of decisions and actions on Anthem’s customers and key stakeholders

Communication and Influence
Ask tough questions, challenge and engage associates, teams, and leaders in conversation to ensure the right things happen for the business
Help associates, teams, and leaders understand business implications of actions, influencing a change in direction as needed
Has the leadership presence to influence direction and inspire confidence with Anthem’s leaders

Focus associates on critical business priorities and coach associates on effective project execution
Coach associates through the migration from WGS to WGS Prime ensuring they have the training, mentoring, and support needed for effective execution of their role
Create an environment that enables and focuses people on the company’s mission and vision
Inspire superior performance by cultivating ownership and personal commitment to goals and objectives as well as personal growth
Requires a BA/BS degree, 5-7 years of experience in project/program management, process reengineering, organizational design, and/or implementation; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Ability to travel maybe required.
