Position Purpose:

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Practice Coordinator, this position is responsible for assisting with advanced surgical procedures through performance that is in compliance with established policies and procedures of the hospital. The technologist must be proficient in a minimum of three specialty areas, one of which must be orthopedics, neurosurgery, robotics or cardiac. Incumbents in a technical role are expected to assess and analyze given situations and make decisions within the limits of practice.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  2. Minimum five years acute surgical technologist experience or three years of acute surgical technologist experience with current Certified Surgical Technologist certification is required.

  3. Minimum of one year of experience in a specialty area (i.e., orthopedics, neurosurgery, robotics, etc.) is required.

  4. Successful completion of a surgical technologist training program and Certified Surgical Technologist certification is preferred.

  5. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.
