WSP is currently initiating a search for a Technical Writerfor our Fresno, CA office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Individual will format, edit and maintain construction management, inspection and documentation policies and procedures, while recommending and implementing content changes, migrating the information from basic WORD to web based WIKI format, or other similar applications. Position requires regular collaboration with project managers, construction engineers, vendors or consultants. Successful individuals will possess excellent technical writing skills and editing abilities and be able to work with open source web platforms that support content management of web pages and related technical documents. Candidates will be detail oriented, organized and be adept at working, in a team environment. Position requires extensive multi-tasking with the ability to exercise independent judgment and self manage tasks, while anticipating client needs and proactively developing solutions.
Candidate will have 5 years of relevant technical writing and basic web development experience, within the construction infrastructure industry, or 2 to 3 years of relevant experience with a BA in Communications, Journalism, or related degree.
Must be experienced in working with WIKI or similar web based open source platforms
Demonstrated, excellent client service and time management skills. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of the highway and bridge construction inspection industry and be familiar with related terminology.
Preference will be given to local candidates.
