Medcor is currently looking for a Medical Assistant to provide first-quality clinical administrative care in an employer based clinic setting in Hanford, California on a PRN (as needed) basis. The clinic performs basic primary and urgent care in addition to treating work place injuries. The clinic hours are Monday, Wednesday & Friday 7am – 4pm; Tuesday & Thursday 9am – 6pm.

There are no guaranteed hours, and coverage is based on our need matching your availability.

The Per Diem Medical Assistant for Medcor will provide excellent clinical care in an occupational and urgent care health clinic and will assist in the care and treatment of patients in the clinic environment. The position’s responsibilities also include collaborative work with the medical and operation leadership at Medcor, on-site PA/NP, nursing staff, site paramedics, and with key contacts within the client’s corporate structure. The day-to-day role of the Medical Assistant includes acting in a consistent and fair manner, maintaining strong interpersonal relationships, assisting with clinic management as directed by the site Medical Administrator, and providing medical assistance to advanced practitioners at the Medcor clinic.

A typical day in the life of a Medcor Medical Assistant:

  • Provide superior customer service to clinic patients and Medcor’s client

  • Schedule appointments, greet patients, manage clinic traffic, and conduct follow up calls

  • Record keeping, and running reports with state of the art electronic medical software

  • Assist with clinical exams, procedures, and labs

  • Conduct drug and alcohol tests

  • Inventory and stocking of supplies

  • Work collaboratively work with clinic staff, client staff, local medical providers

You Must

  • Have a valid licensure for the position in which you are applying

  • Have a positive and outgoing personality

  • Be willing to go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service

  • Have two years’ experience that demonstrates you meet the criteria listed above

You Should

  • Be comfortable working in a clinic environment

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience

  • Be comfortable and productive working with computers; familiarity with EMR software is a plus

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
