Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated machining systems to optimize and improve industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Must use CAD(2D & 3D)/CAM software

Engineering Department: To better understand design intent to effectively communicate machining methods and costs and to offer productive feedback
Production: To understand and communicate efficient production processes and procedures
Quality: as it relates to ASME inspection, and auditors
Purchasing: To properly communicate the production needs of the organization while ensuring effective interaction with vendors
Vendors: To verify and validate required parts, equipment and product performance
Approximately 60 percent (60%) of all work is performed in an office setting, 30 percent (30%) on shop floor, and 10 percent (10%) at supplier worksites. Occasional travel (including international) depending on business needs. At times, weekend and off-hour work will be required to support customer and business needs

Spends 100% of time in shop environment. Exposure to occasional high noise levels. May work with high-pressure equipment and chemicals. May be subject to inclement weather conditions.
Physical demands include ability to bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, reach above shoulders, walk and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. May carry materials up to 50 pounds for distances up to 20’.
Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Maintainsa Working knowledge of the requirements of the applicable section of the ASME Code or ASME Standard for the appropriate application
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data
Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
Maintains professional and technical knowledge of ASME regulations by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional membership
Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities
Develop manufacturing methods for improving utilization standards and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization
Determine best processess, tools, sequences and techniques to ensure on-time delivery of low cost, quality prducts to customers
Create routings, establish time standards, determine material usage requirements for manufactured parts/components
Research material, labor and overhead requirements to provide cost estimates for parts, processes and projects
Provide technical input and manufacturing requirements to Design Engineers on new and existing products
Research, analyze, justify and implement capital equipment, software, hardware and special projects as required
Provide technical expertise to ensure continued site authorization to construct and repair ASME Code pressure vessels. Maintain ASME Quality Manual. Coordinate and conduct third party audits for renewal of Code and Repair stamps. Qualify welding procedures and personnel and specify welding procedures for pressure vessel construction and repair
Develop technical computing capabilities and tools to support E-Business activities
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
BS degree in Industrial Manufacturing, Industrial Technology or equivalent trade experience in Manufacturing.
Minimum of 5years of experience, 5-8 years’ experience is preferred
Critical Thinking – Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Complex Problem Solving – Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions while dealing with several issues at once, from workers’ safety to quality assurance

Computer Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, ERP applications, and Create coherent documentation, for other professionals or for reference, clearly explaining the thought process behind the information
Lean Manufacturing Concepts – Trained or familiar in Lean Manufacturing & 5S methodology
Drawing Literacy – Understand drawing layout schemes and protocols including views, sections, tolerances, symbols, notes, etc.
Math Skills – Use the principles of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and other topics in mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting
Teamwork – Work with other professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds to serve as a bridge between the technical and business sides of the organization
