Nestle 3rd Shift - Material Handler Unloader in Tulare, California

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • This position is required to address the agility and flexibility requirements as expected by our customers from a competitive and reliable supplier. You will rotate to work stations as a cross functional team member and train others as required.

  • You will handle all materials, take samples, test and complete quality checks and record results in accordance with mix processing specifications and all other related safety, quality, operational procedures to ensure efficient running of Mix Room.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Rotate to work stations and handle all materials (including dry blending, receiving tankers, washing tanks, straining, yogurt operation tasks involving dry ingredients, fruits, flavors, rework, etc.) within the Mix Room to support Mix Room schedule.

  • Ensure that all materials are pulled in FEFO.

  • Check computer emails daily to ensure alignment and awareness of communication regarding changes.

  • Check mix room and receiving schedules for day and week. Contact necessary points of contact (ex. Vendors, supervisors, team lead, mix room scheduler, etc.) to make needed changes.

  • Interaction with plant personnel, truck drivers, suppliers and contractors regarding work order repairs.

  • Verify ingredients needed are available for usage.

  • Keen to learn to work with computers and integrated Systems (SAM, SAP, etc.) and eager to stay updated with these technologies as they evolve, through training and experiences gathering.

  • Take samples, test and complete quality checks and record results (ex. butterfat, total Solids, and Brix).

  • CIP/Sanitize and set-up mix tanks, lines & fruit fill lines.

  • Follow all safety, quality, operational procedures (all SOPs and Standard Routines including yogurt) and guidelines within the Mix Room for planned/unplanned downtime and running time.

  • Complete all operator level PM s and cycle counts.

  • Complete all critical documentation (ex. HACCP, QMS, Vigilistics/Circuit charts documentation) and daily paperwork/documentation.

  • Follow all GMP and Good Housekeeping policies.

  • Follow all safety guidelines.

  • Take an active role in all team meetings.

  • Complete Shift Hand Off- (SHO), communicate with prior and/or relieving operator to discuss any line issues,

  • Required to be a part of any Problem Solving activities.

  • Rotate to work stations as a cross functional team member and train others as required.

  • At end of shift: secure all equipment, complete all required paperwork, and perform general housekeeping as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
