Land O' Lakes Plant Fixed Asset Accountant in Tulare, California


The Corporate division encompasses the core operational support for all Land O’Lakes businesses. It includes Corporate Strategy, Corporate Communications, Land O’Lakes Foundation and Community Relations, Finance, Law, Member Relations, Facilities, Event Strategy, Security, Human Resources, Information Technology, Corporate Marketing and Government Relations.


Position Purpose:

The Fixed Assets Accountant supporting our Tulare, CA Finance team is primarily responsible for tracking capital expense on a project by project basis, audit and reconcile fixed asset list, as well as other regulatory compliance reports.

Key responsibilities will include:

-Tracking weekly progress of active capital projects, reporting against a project timeline and budget

-Generate and track purchase orders for active capital projects

-Annual audit of fixed assets register. Will be responsible for visual confirmation of all assets on list

-Asset disposition of fixed assets that are retired or replaced

-Assist corporate tax with annual property tax estimate

-Other duties as necessary

Experience-Education (Required):

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration along with 1 plus years' relevant accounting work experience

-Manufacturing and Fixed Asset Accounting Preferred

-Experience must include analyzing data and using to drive business decisions/results

Competencies-Skills (Required):

-Knowledge of Enterprise Software Preferred

-MS Office with intermediate skills in Excel

-Highly detail oriented and organized

-Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

-Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

-Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams

-Excellent oral and written communication skills

-Experience and career history with “Fortune 500” type companies strong desired

Experience-Education (Preferred):

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Dairy/Food Manufacturing experience

  • CMA

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The temperature of the work environment can fluctuate due to occasional temperatures from cold/cool to warm/hot. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud and will require ear plugs. While working in the manufacturing areas, the incumbent is required to wear personal protective equipment.

Work Schedule:Hours: 8AM - 5PM (some flexibility). This role may require off shift hours and weekend as needed.
